Stop Press!
We have a last-minute gig at the Royal Oak in Twerton on Friday 5th Feb. Great pub, with great beer.
Topper is away that weekend, which means we’re bass-less; if any bass players want to sit in, feel free!
Dudlow Joe are a blues & boogie band based in Bath whose musical gumbo includes the driving rhythms of boogie-woogie & New Orleans fonk, a dose of improvisation and scat, spiced with the urgency of the blues.
Our recipes are mostly original concoctions, with some borrowed from the books of past masters - our many influences provide the pungent seasoning unique to us. We love food.

Dudlow in 2010
So, we’ve already had the pleasure of Hatter’s Bar in Bristol. Great place, lovely staff… no punters whatsoever, unfortunately! That’s the problem with a rainy Thursday in Bristol I guess.
Still, next up is a Haiti Earthquake benefit on 12th Feb at Banglo’s in Bath, ably assisted by a wealth of local talent. No need to tell you that this is for a very important cause.
Then on 13th feb we have a return visit to the Blue Lagoon in Bristol,. Should be a corker, so let’s see some of our Bristol friends!

Practice held shock
Now, a very special thing happened last night when we actually had a planned rehearsal for our upcoming gigs. Not only that, but we are introducing a new batch of tunes which we are all excited about; in particular a new song from Pete which rattles along at about 230bpm. Should be fun.
Another first was the inclusion of a ‘guest’ – Tony ‘The Tiger’ Taylor will be joining us for a couple of tunes at The Oak, though we couldn’t persuade him to exercise his vocal chords…

New Site
At long last I’ve got around to refreshing the old Dudlow Joe website. As you can see we have fully embraced the social networking dumpling, with Twitter updates (click on the logo to follow us), Facebook and MySpace groups, a YouTube Channel and Flickr galleries.
We have a few gigs coming up (see the diary on the right), and we should be adding loads more in the New Year.
Come and see us play, say hello, network with us socially, and generally sip from our savoury cup…
